These natural cylinders are a fair trade product handmade in Kenya. They are hand carved out of stone and then sanded until smooth. Since these show the natural colors of the stone, some color variations should be expected. One can often see shades of cream, gray, pink, and brown in the design. These planters do not have drainage holes. They are best for air plants, plants, succulents, or to hold pens and other kitchen or office supplies. For decorative use only with dried flowers or botanicals.

  • Materials: Kisii Soapstone
  • Made in Kenya
  • Size: Approximately 4 inches tall, 3 inches wide

Care Instructions

  • Wipe clean with damp cloth. Not intended to hold water.

Meet the Artisan

Venture Imports

Venture Imports cares about the artisan’s families and are against child labor. But more than just that, they want all children to be able to get an education and to have time to play! The artisans are able to work from home, or they can bring their children to the cooperative to play while their mothers work. All of the artisan partner’s children are in school—something which is not always the case in a community where school fees are often prohibitive to many parents.
